🔍 Master the "Being" vs. "Been" Trap
In TOEIC Part 1, the difference between an action in progress and a finished state is critical:
- Is being + V3: Someone is doing it right now (e.g., "The car is being repaired" means the mechanic is working on it).
- Has been + V3: The action is finished; the focus is on the result (e.g., "The car has been parked" means it's just sitting there).
📍 Essential Spatial Prepositions
Vocational English relies heavily on where objects are placed:
| Expression | Usage |
|---|---|
| Adjacent to | Next to / side-by-side (e.g., the printer is adjacent to the desk). |
| Propped against | Leaning on (e.g., the ladder is propped against the wall). |
| Scattered on | Spread out randomly (e.g., papers are scattered on the floor). |
| Stacked/Piled | One on top of another (e.g., boxes are stacked in the corner). |
🚀 Pro-Tip: Ignore the "Sounds Like" Trap
TOEIC often uses words that sound similar to the image but mean something else. If you see a "walkway," don't choose an answer just because it uses the word "working." Always verify the verb!
